About Us

Pelican Bay Ltd., Inc. is a small family-owned company, operating out of a yellow warehouse covered in murals of pelicans, palm trees and tropical flowers in downtown Clearwater, Florida.     The company was started in 1983 by Char Pfaelzer when her family relocated from Massachusetts to Florida. David Pfaelzer had a great new job, Justin and Emma were flourishing in a terrific little school on the beach; Char thought a hobby blending herbs for dip mixes might be fun.     Pelican Bay was started at the kitchen table with the entire family pitching in. After several moves over the years David came to work full time in 1990 and Justin now runs the warehouse after graduating from Williams College in 1994 (Emma has the best job of all! - she is a nanny and commutes between homes on Martha's Vineyard and Washington, D.C.).     Pelican Bay Ltd. is still small enough that each and every customer is very important to us; let us know exactly what you want and we will always do our very best to provide it. We are not some huge corporation, but a family that realizes that to continue our success we must provide the best products and service possible. If you are ever not happy with us in anyway - please, let us know and we will always do our best to correct the problem. We truly do care, stand behind our products and believe our customers are always right. Everyone in the office is "customer service". Just pick up the phone and call us if you need help going through the catalog, figuring out your choices, putting together your order, and making sure you receive exactly what you want, within your budget, to arrive when you need it.     Pelican Bay's products are known world-wide for their great taste, recipes and ingredients, innovative award-winning packaging and proven reliable sales. Throughout the catalog are photographs of some of the many wonderful employees who hand assemble and ship everything we make. We are especially proud of our five mentally handicapped helpers, Jimmy, Heather, Scott, Kevin and John and their terrific job coach Nancy who enrich all our lives everyday with their attitude and hard work.     We look forward to working and growing with you in the future, and hope to hear from you soon.     Char, David, Justin and everyone at Pelican Bay Ltd.
